My goal as a speaker is to bridge the gap between rigorous psychological, communication, and artificial intelligence research and pressing societal challenges. I frequently address international conferences, policy summits, organizational events, and public debates, providing data-driven insights into how we navigate an era defined by polarization, artificial intelligence, and rapid cultural change.
Policy, Government, and Public Debate
My research often informs high-level policy discussions regarding democracy and security. I have been an invited speaker for the European Commission at the Challenges to Human Vulnerability in the Rapidly Changing World conference in Warsaw.
In Norway, I have been a contributor to Arendalsuka, the country’s premier political gathering, where I have discussed the impact of algorithms and disinformation on our understanding of reality.
I also actively participate in public debates on how to protect open societies. This includes televised panels on NRK, such as discussing strategies to combat hate speech and polarization alongside the Minister of Culture and Equality, Lubna Jaffery, and addressing trust in the age of disinformation for the Nordic Alliance for Communication & Management (NORA). I recently gave a keynote at the Democracy Conference at the University of Oslo.
International Keynotes and Distinguished Lectures
I have delivered keynotes and distinguished lectures at leading academic institutions and forums worldwide. My engagements include delivering the keynotes at the Senior Leaders Programme of BMJ’s International Forum on Quality & Safety in Healthcare, Global Muslim Mental Health Conference at Cambridge University and the Social Identity and Religious Studies Scholars in Dialogue Workshop in Helsinki. In 2022, I gave the Early Career Award Address at the International Academy for Intercultural Research conference in Switzerland.
Beyond keynotes, I have been invited to present my findings at prestigious institutions including University of Oxford, New York University (NYU), University College London (UCL), University of Amsterdam, and University of Kent.
